This recipe for cranberry sauce is based on one posted at Epicurious. I modified it slightly to better fit my tastes. It is delicious and very, very easy.
1 cup ruby port
12 oz fresh cranberries
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup sugar
Combine the port and cinnamon in a heavy saucepan over medium heat until simmering. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the cranberries and the sugar. Continue simmering-you may want to put the lid on it at this point, because the berries will pop and may make a mess.
Simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. When it's ready, it will look like this.
